Methandrostenolone is characterized for having anabolic and androgenic properties, being the main indication of these the treatment of male hypogonadism. It enhances protein synthesis because it supports protein increase at muscular level. This effect is shown in a positive balance of nitrogen and a feeling of improved wellbeing. Calcium balance is also positively influenced since it promotes the calciumdeposit in bones. Methandrostenolone is indicated in the treatment of all diseases and conditions in which an anabolic effect is needed (increase of protein synthesis) and a general strenghtening effect.

 

 

Because this is a 17-?-alkilated substance it is associated with hepatotoxicity. The following reactions require medical supervision and are common with the use of all types of testosterones: Menstrual irregularities in women, bladder irritability, gynecomastia, anaphylaxis, oedema, erythrocytosis, gastrointestinal irritation, hypercalcemia and polycythemia, androgenic alopecia, seborrhea and acne in women and men. Prostatic hypertrophy Carcinoma, and increase of sexual desire, cholestatic jaundice, excitability; hypercholesterolemia; hypercalcemia, oedema. In women: virilization In men: priapism, oligospermia, hirsutism, decreased libido, decreased testicular mass,

functional impotence.Other adverse reactions are: constipation,

nausea, diarrhea, infection, changes in libido, stomachache, difficulty sleeping, oheadache, anxiety, depression, generalized parestesia, rash.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to Methandrostenolone. Severe hepatic impairment. In prepubertal individuals or individuals in aggressive state; Pregnancy, breastfeeding.

 

 

As with testosterone and other androgens and anabolic steroids they increase the activity of certain drugs and consequently its toxicity. Among them are cyclosporine, antidiabetics, levothyroxine, anticoagulants

such as warfarin. A resistance to neuromuscular blockers has also been reported.

 

 

Methandrostelonolone is a 17-?-alkilated substance associated with hepatotoxicity. Hepatic function should be closely monitored during treatment. It should not be administered to patients with hepatic impairment.

 

 

There is no specific antidote. Support measures must be taken in case of an overdose, such as keeping an open airway and monitoring cardiovascular function.
